Become Part of the Digital Protest – Object to Shell & CCG Seismic Surveys on RSA Coast.

Object by signing the petition. Take action with us to stop Shell’s OFFSHORE EXPLORATION in seas 20km off the Wild Coast, Eastern Cape. Shell plans to blast the during whale, turtle and hammerhead migration season.

Seismic surveys in general have been known to have the following effects on marine life:

  • Physical – causing embolisms and damage to body tissue, and temporary or permanent hearing loss.
  • Stress – causing changes in body physiology which may affect growth and reproduction and result in death.
  • Behavioral changes – in cetaceans (dolphins, whales and porpoises) these involve a change in dive times and time spent at the surface and loss of energy from moving over large distances to get away from disturbing sounds. Foraging and nursing may also be affected. Cetacean calves separated from their mothers because of high noise levels would be unable to suckle

  1. Please may you send me the #OCEANS NOT OIL logo in a vector format. We would like to get a 5m banner printed for a beach and reef cleanup this weekend.
