Paddling for Justice

Ocean lovers along the South African coast came out in beautiful formation to support the “Save South Africa’s Coast & Future: Stop the offshore oil & gas exploration application ER236” petition, demanding that Minister of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries, Barbara Creecy withdraw her approval of the application. Of deep concern is the consequence to the coastline and marine life if ENI and Sasol drill 2 wells offshore Scottburgh and 4 wells off Richards Bay in the fast Agulhas current. These pioneer wells will become the deepest globally, will contribute to global warming and sea level rise, and threaten our future.
Our goal is to reach 20,000 signatures and we need more support. You can read more and sign the petition here:

The Oceans Not Oil coalition thanks all volunteers who helped in so many ways and we look forward to the next direct action event.
