Invitation to comment on EIA & Listing Notice Amendments

Herewith you’ll find the invitation from the Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment to comment on said amendments, but the minister is not upfront about the purposes of the amendments. According to the invitation the focus should be on mining wastes, instead the amendments contain a gamut of environmental impact governance and human rights concerns that we believe need meaningful public participation, especially considering the proposed exclusion of written consent for mining and fracking activities on coastal public property from the requirements of Regulation 39(1).
